John Hurley is the Founder and Managing Partner of Cavalry Asset Management. Based in San Francisco and Taipei, Cavalry invests in both public and private companies primarily in the technology sector. Mr. Hurley is also a lecturer in Finance at the Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB). Mr. Hurley graduated with Honors from Princeton University in 1986, where he was Chairman of The Daily Princetonian. Upon graduation, Mr. Hurley served for five years as an artillery officer in the United States Army, including combat duty as a fire direction officer for the First Cavalry Division during the first Gulf War.
After graduating from Stanford with an MBA in 1993, Mr. Hurley joined Fidelity Management and Research as a portfolio manager and analyst. In 1997 he became Managing Partner of Bowman Capital Management, and in 2003 he founded Cavalry Asset Management.
In addition to serving on the Executive Committee of the EWI Board, Mr. Hurley is a member of the Princeton University Department of History Advisory Council and the Board of Directors of Business Executives for National Security (BENS).
