She has participated in numerous domestic and international initiatives connected to cybersecurity matters. Currently, inter alia, she takes part in the work of the National Forum of Security organized by the Polish Presidential National Bureau of Security, which collaborates on the cyber doctrine of Poland. Moreover, she was invited to advise the Supreme Audit Office regarding cybersecurity control in Poland. She was a member of a group of experts who participated in the Sino-European Cyber Dialogue, which took place in Geneva and Beijing.

Joanna is the author of numerous articles, reports, and analyses concerning security, safety and international policy. At present, within the Kosciuszko Institute she leads the team of experts that are preparing a report on cyber security of critical infrastructure in Poland.

She is working on a doctoral dissertation devoted to information warfare.
